Indoor Air Quality

We have a potential Seattle area HVAC client that has some pretty intensive allergies. Because of this fact they are very careful bringing in harmful products into their home. What is normal to most folks could literally lead to severe alergic reactions for this client. Our company is working with them to identify potential toxins that we would be introducing into their house because of the duct/AC/ventilation system they want us to install. Sealants, adhesive, plastics–even sheet metal–all have to be scrutiized for potential toxins.

I only write about this because indoor air quality is becoming a much larger issue as people have adoped new building strategies and techniques that tighten up our building envelopes. Our code now requires air exchange because of the fact our homes can be many times more toxic than the outdoor air. With all the chemicals that most of us bring into the home (make up, cleaning supplies, paints, solvents etc)–it is no wonder that more people are developing these alergic reactions.

Mitchell Mechanical strives to build HVAC systems that adere to a higher quality than what most folks are used to. It is interesting to note that when people build their dream home they often cut the budget of their HVAC system before anything even though it has a huge impact on their comfort and more importantly–their health. It is a strage but we see this all the time with builders that ask us to cut out ‘the meat’ or ‘sharpen our pencils.’ When you do this you end up with the contractors that use inferior products and unskilled laborers that deliver a poor product. On a million dollar + home–why shave off 4K from your HVAC system when you can have superior comfort and healthy air systems.

We look forward to this challenging project because it will also make us more aware of the types of toxins that we might be bringing into our clients homes. We want to help create healthy comfortable homes–instead of making them worse. It starts with us being aware.

I hope you will spread the word and tell your friends and associates about this Seattle HVAC contractor that is working to be the best in the industry. Thank you.
